Hell hath no fury like a superwoman scorned. In this comedy written by Simpsons scribe Don Payne and directed by Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Dave, Evolution), Uma Thurman stars as Jenny/G-Girl, a Manhattan superhero who makes life unlivable for her ex-boyfriend after he breaks up with her. “She’s kind of needy and slightly crazy,” says Luke Wilson, who plays the unlucky dumper. “She’s definitely stronger—even in bed, she tells me what to do.” Equipped with a variety of Marvel-esque abilities, including flight and superhuman strength, G-Girl channels her postbreakup rage into amazing acts of revenge: In one scene, she hurls a great white shark into her ex’s apartment. Such super-feats only underscore the ordinariness of Wilson’s character, Matt Saunders. “I’ve been kidding around about that name,” the actor says. “Every script I’ll get says, ‘Early 30s, quirky-looking guy,’ and then it’ll have a name like Matt Saunders. I was trying to get Ivan Reitman to change it to Pancho Saunders. Just something different.”
