Jersey Girl

Ben Affleck’s back on home turf, appearing in his fifth Kevin Smith–directed film. Here, he plays Ollie Trinke, a Manhattan publicist married to his true love (Affleck’s former true love Jennifer Lopez) and expecting a child. When Trinke ends up a single dad, he and his little girl move in with his father, played by George Carlin. (Let’s hope Carlin watches his mouth around the kid.) Liv Tyler plays Trinke’s newfound love interest.

The Bottom Line: Don’t be fooled by the part that she’s got: J.Lo’s hardly in the movie (which may be a good thing). (Miramax)
